Each handmade journal is an unique work of art and consists of seven pocket pages that hold a small folded note card to record a word of gratitude for each day. The pockets can also hold a special memento like a photo of a loved one or a favorite travel memory making this little book a keepsake repository to help focus on what's really important in life.
My goal was to donate a portion of the sale of each gratitude journal to Janie's Fund, a philanthropic initiative started by Steven Tyler. It's mission is to help support abused girls and young women. Journals have been submitted into various local holiday artist markets in Michigan.
*UPDATE* This project is coming to an end. I have posted the last of my SASSAFRASSEEEs below. It's been a wonderful experience to create these and hearing from those who have purchased my little journals. It is humbling and exciting to know that something I've created has meaning for someone. My last journals will be available at two local gallery gift markets (Starkweather Arts Center in Romeo, MI and St. Clair Art Association in St. Clair, MI) for the rest of the year.
