YAY! I finished a piece for the Artfest Gallery.
I love making these little books.
I love making these little books.
Handmade papers, vintage photos and mixed media techniques (including
matte gel medium stenciling) were used to explore texture and pattern in
this piece.
Adhering actual beach stones to the cover helped to tie it into the "stacked stuff" theme.
The binding used to stitch the pages together is what I'll be teaching in my class.
I experimented with using a mini-stretched canvas as the back cover with an oversized jewelry stone bead suspended inside the back of the canvas.
UPDATE 4/11 -- This piece sold at Artfest. One of my lovely students purchased it. Thank you Karen:)
