Once Upon A Time

***UPDATE***
Both my pieces were accepted! The show opens July 28 at 10 AM. Here's the link for more information.

I submitted two pieces to the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House Exhibition called Once Upon A Time: Grimmly Inspired. A submission requirement was to find a lesser known detail in one of the nine Grimm Brothers fairy tales suggested for inspiration. I chose the Frog Prince and my two entries are below.

The Golden Promise represents the moment when the princess promises the frog his wish of companionship if he retrieves her golden ball that had fallen into a well. Thinking he was just a frog and couldn't possibly do the things he was asking of her, she agreed.

Heinrich's Sorrow depicts the frog prince's steadfast servant, Heinrich, who placed three iron bands around his heart to keep it from bursting with grief and sorrow when his master was turned into a frog by a wicked witch.

The Ford House grounds were fabulous. I will definitely have to go back and take in a tour.
